The City of Lebanon and the Lebanon Museum Foundation are pleased to announce the Academy Square Time Capsule Project.  A welcome monument is currently being built at Academy Square adjacent to Main Street across from the intersection with Dodge Street.

During the ribbon-cutting ceremony for the new monument, to be scheduled later this coming Spring, a time capsule will be placed inside the structure.  It will be sealed with instructions to be opened nearly 60 years from now on the City’s 200th Anniversary on October 17, 2078.

Mayor Paul Aziz and the Lebanon Museum Board are asking Lebanon residents and enthusiasts to submit their ideas for items to be included in the time capsule.  The capsule is large, measuring 10 inches in diameter and 24 inches long.  Ideas may be submitted via email to lmatthewsbock@ci.lebanon.or.us no later than Friday, April 12th.
