CITY MANAGER CANDIDATE MEET & GREET

Mayor Aziz and the Lebanon City Council are happy to announce they have chosen Troy Swanson and Christy Wurster as the final two candidates for City Manager.  The public is invited to attend a "Meet and Greet" on June 23 at the Boulder Falls Event Center, 605 Mullins Drive, Lebanon, OR 97355 from 6:00 – 7:30 p.m.

After the candidates give their opening remarks, they will mingle with the community in an informal setting. Those in attendance may provide verbal or written feedback on each of the candidates to the Council.

Reopening Oregon Phase II requires social distancing at this event.  The event will be streamed live on the City’s YouTube channel at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Nl22EmxE_5Q.

The candidates will be interviewed by a community panel on the afternoon of June 23 and have final interviews with Council on June 24. The start date will be determined once a candidate has been selected.

Troy Swanson has been with the Municipality of Anchorage, Alaska, since 1997 when he started as Supervisor of Technical Services, IT Division, for the municipality’s Water & Wastewater Utility. His subsequent positions for the utility include IT Program Manager, Strategic Planning, and he is currently CIO/IT Division Director, a position he has served in for a total of over 12 years. He was also CIO/IT Department Director for the municipality for a total of three years. Early in his career, Mr. Swanson was an Automation Engineer and Lead Planner for Lockheed Martin Corporation, providing services for federal agencies, for over eight years. He has a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science and a master’s degree in Business Administration, both from the University of Alaska, Anchorage.

Christy Wurster has worked in local government since 1995. She has been the City Manager/Recorder & Urban Renewal Agency Director for the City of Silverton, Oregon, since January 2017. Her previous public service positions in Oregon include City Manager Pro-Tem for the City of Sweet Home, Interim City Administrator for the City of Fairview, Interim Budget Director for the City of Creswell, Assistant to the City Manager/Franchise Administrator for the City of Salem, City Manager for the City of Dayton, and Assistant Public Works Director – Administration for the City of Dallas. Ms. Wurster has a bachelor’s degree in Management & Communication from Western Baptist College and a Master of Public Administration degree from Portland State University.
